What we publish

Celebrity portraits and red-carpet archives, viral images with verifiable context, historical and rare photography, behind-the-scenes film stills, before-and-after comparisons and the odd, unexplained frames that turn out to have very good explanations. Each piece leads with the picture and follows with the research.

How we handle images

We do not scrape or republish copyrighted celebrity or news photography without permission. Every image carries a credit line, a licence note and, where one exists, a link to the source. Where we cannot license a specific photograph, we describe it, link to a legitimate place to view it, and illustrate the piece with original or public-domain material. Full details are in our image and copyright policy.

Editorial standards

• Headlines must accurately describe the story. No bait, no invented mystery.
• No fabricated gossip, no defamatory claims, no assertions about a person that we cannot source.
• Interpretation is labelled as interpretation, separately from documented fact.
• When research stops, we say so. “Unidentified photograph, origin unknown” is an acceptable answer.
• Corrections are made on the page itself, with the update date shown in the byline area.

How many stories we publish

Every story on this site is researched from named sources and illustrated with a photograph whose licence we have checked on the holding collection’s own page for that exact file. That is slow work, so the archive grows slowly. We would rather publish fewer stories than pad the site with material we cannot stand behind.

How claims about real people are handled

Stories in The Drama carry a label describing the status of their central claim:

• Confirmed / admitted — stated by the people involved or documented beyond dispute.
• Public record — drawn from filings, judgments, transcripts or other official documents.
• Reported — published by named outlets but not confirmed by the people involved. Presented as reporting, never as fact.
• Denied / disputed — contested on the record, with the denial carried in the article.

We do not publish rumour, anonymous tips or allegations we cannot attribute to a document or a named source.

Who writes this and how it is funded

Articles are written and edited by the Forgotten Frame editorial desk and published under that byline rather than invented personal names. Nothing on this site is presented as the work of an expert we do not have. Every article shows its publication date and, where it has been revised, its last-updated date.

Forgotten Frame is independent and plans to fund itself through display advertising. Advertising is kept visually separate from editorial content, and no advertiser has any say in what we publish or how a story is written. We do not publish paid placements disguised as articles.
